If you have any questions around pastoral support or community projects please feel free to come into school and I will endeavour to support you and your children.
Many thanks

Our aim is to ensure that every child in Willowtown has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential. In order to facilitate this, we seek to create an atmosphere within school that allows all children to feel encouraged and respected and that any matters which arise are dealt with sympathetically.
We acknowledge that some children will require additional support in order that they may reach their full potential and our Family Engagement Officer is on hand to offer early and appropriate intervention to improve the attainment of those children who have social, emotional or behavioural needs. The Family Engagement Officer works closely with pupils and families in order to provide support and to encourage families to play an active part in their child’s education.
A number of different strategies are in place to support individuals including SAP groups which can help in raising self-esteem, helping with organisational skills and controlling anger or behaviour and also dealing with bereavement and loss.
We deliver a support group for our Young Carers and a Young Ambassador after school club to implement Children’s Rights.
We also help to deliver a holiday club in the summer term to support families.
Our Family Engagement Officer also works with specialist agencies which support children’s welfare, such as the school nurse, Families First, Team Around the Family and Mental health in-Reach, Police School Community Liaison Officer.
We also deliver parent support groups.
It’s important to look after our emotional wellbeing. If you need support as an adult or for your family, there are many agencies available to help, if you need advice or support please contact a member of the team.
Finally, we want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. We am available every day to talk so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
